There are two self-portraits of Brad. This is one of the two. An earlier self-portrait was done also in pastel in 1973 at the age of 16 and while a freshman in high school which won the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel award that year.

This pastel portrait by the artist is the second one painted in 1988 when Brad was 30 years old.
